Andrew Page Spiegel, Sr.

SPIEGEL, Andrew Page, Sr., age 88, died on Sunday, January 13, 2013. Andrew served in WWII in the South Pacific from 1944-46 and later graduated from Denison University and University of Michigan Law School. He then worked for five years at the Ford Motor Company as Legal Counsel. After working for Ford, Andrew earned his Doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin and started working as Professor and Provost at Post College, Huntington, NY then at Wright State University. He was the Dean of the College of Business at Central State University from 1985-1988 and then retired from Wright State University in 1993 where he served as Vice President and Provost from 1971 to 1973, and Professor of History from 1971 to 1998. Andrew was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Dayton Country Club, and the Dayton Racquet Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Semple and Helen Page Spiegel. Andrew is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gay; first wife, Joan Alford Spiegel of Vero Beach, FL; children, Lee Spiegel of Dayton, OH, Lynn (Jeff) Oakes of Vero Beach, FL, Sally Spiegel of San Francisco, CA, and Andrew Page Spiegel Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; step-children, Allison (Peter) Mooney of Boston, MA, Karen Lady Norris of Dayton, James Edward Emerson Lady of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, and Jennifer (Scott) Robinson of Oakwood, OH; grandchildren, Ashley Rider (Rick) Hawkins of Dayton, OH, Thomas EJ Reagan of San Francisco, CA, Brittney Reagan of New York, NY, Sara Marie Spiegel of New York, NY, Bradley Spiegel of Dayton, OH, Heather Ann Mooney of Worcester, MA, Sara Joan Mooney of Los Angeles, CA, Ryan Quinn Threm of Seattle, WA, Kyle RP Threm of Honolulu, Hawaii, Kinsey Laine Threm of Geneva, IL, Abigail Grace Lady and Brooke Evans Lady of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, Tiller English Robinson and Clancy Page Robinson of Oakwood, OH. Andrew is also survived by special friends Deborah Spiegel, John Higgins, Pat and Craig Rider, Phyllis Thompson, Robert Balyeat, Charles Hartmann and John and Cynthia McCard. Services will be held January 19, 2013 at 11:00 am, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 33 W. Dixon Avenue, Oakwood. Family will receive friends following the service at Dayton County Club. The family would like to especially thank the kind and caring staff of Hospice of the Miami Valley and Brookdale Senior Living for all there loving care.
