Anne (Zajac) Emick

EMICK, (Zajac) Anne; born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 4, 1926, Anne completed her life’s journey on April 7, 2021 at the age of 94, in Kettering, Ohio.

She returned to her heavenly father and reunited with her loving parents, Theodore and Mary Zajac (Ludwik), her vigilent husband of 65 years, William F. Emick and cherished brothers, John (Hattie) Liszewski, Frank (Jenny) Liszewski of Wisconsin and Walter (Connie) Zajac of Parma. She raised four spirited children, Robert (Maryann) Emick of Michigan, Rosemary (Robert) Wood of Cleveland, Rachelle (Tom) Keyler of Indiana and Rhonda (Brian) Whiteaker of Beavercreek. They gifted her with 8 dynamic grandchildren; Gretchen, Alan, Angela (deceased), Dawn, Karen, Hudson, Casey and Jacob, who presented her with 7 wicked-smart great-grandchildren, Sullivan, Dylan, Madeline, Vivian, Kaitlyn, Oliver and Mallory. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and friends.


Anne loved life and touched everyone she met with her soft presence and open heart. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting, polka dancing, traveling (global) and especially, meeting people. Her glowing light will be forever missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30AM on May 21 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering. Burial at Dayton National Cemetery at 12:30pm with a reception to follow at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E Stroop Rd, Kettering 45429. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brookdale Kettering, 280 Walden Way, Dayton, OH 45440.
