age 92, passed away on May 8, 2001 in Santa Barbara, California. She was born on October 30, 1908 in Dayton, Ohio to Claude M. and Gertrude Phillips. Arcelia graduated from Fairmont High School and Miami University and taught kindergarten in Oakwood and Kettering. She played organ and directed choir in the Dayton area for sixty years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and P.E.O. Sisterhood. She enjoyed doing needlepoint and crocheting. Survived by two children; Dr. Douglas P. Hinton of Columbus, Ohio and Donna H. Moorhead of Santa Barbara, California; six grandchildren in Ohio, California, Nevada and Oregon; six great-grandchildren in Ohio and Nevada, and three nieces in Ohio, California and Michigan. Private graveside services will be held at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio, beside M. E. Hinton, the father of their children. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation.
