C. Erwin Velbis

November 15, 1965 — April 23, 2022

Velbis, C. Erwin, age 56, of Dayton, OH, went peacefully to rest on Saturday, April 23, 2022, until Jesus comes again. He was born November 15, 1965, in Lexington, Kentucky to Cenon and Carole (Florence) Velbis. Erwin began his education at Highland Academy, Tennessee where he went on to complete his Undergraduate Degree in Nursing at Southern Adventist University, Tennessee. He then earned his Master’s Degree in Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Virginia. Erwin embodied qualities of determination, perseverance, and generosity during his career of over 30 years in healthcare. During these 30 years, he was altruistic as he would assist overseas during medical missionary trips and provide his medical knowledge to help and teach others. In his free time, he loved to build computers, listen to music, watch movies, hike in the mountains of Tennessee and Colorado, and enjoyed photography. What he loved most of all was spending time with and serving his family and friends. Erwin leaves behind a legacy of generosity, kindness, compassion, and excellence in all that he did. His memories will be cherished, and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Erwin is preceded in death by his father, Cenon Velbis. He is survived by his mother, Carole Velbis; his beloved wife of 9 years, Michelle; children, Alyssa (James) Rowe, Amberhope (Justin) Montero, Kaelibeth Rose, Grant Velbis, Collin Velbis, and Luke Velbis; grandson, Beckett Rowe; sisters, Arlene Velbis and Esther (Mark) Williard; brother, David (Feliz) Velbis; and numerous extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 4PM on Saturday, April 30 at AdventHealth Corporate Campus, 900 Hope Way, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
