Caroline Ann White

Caroline Ann White was born August 26, 1943 in Monroe, Michigan to Phillip & Virginia (Watson) Douglas. She attended Monroe High School and graduated from Wright State University with a BS in education, later earning her Masters in 1987. She taught math and science classes at Xenia Warner Middle School for over 25 years. Caroline married Roger White in 1964, and raised two daughters. After retiring they loved to travel, often choosing destinations on a whim. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in June. Caroline filled her life with arts and crafts. She also loved to study nature, caves, and animals. She was always curious to learn new things, and passed this on to her students and daughters. For the last 15 years, her main passion was weaving with friends. She belonged to the Heritage Basketry Weaving Guild, making hundreds of artisan baskets. She was President of the Weavers Guild of Miami Valley, and loomed many beautiful linens. She also quilted, and enjoyed weekend "Weave-In" getaways with her many close girl-friends. Part of her engaging personality was that she could find the humor in any situation. She will be terribly, terribly missed. Caroline is survived by her husband, Roger; two children - Charlotte (John) White-Hull of West Chester OH, Christine (Scott) McCall of Livermore CA; two brothers - Larry (Ruth) Douglas of Gahanna, Ohio, Blaine (Angie) Douglas of Paw Paw, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gerald Douglass. Family will greet friends from 2:00-2:30pm on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering with a memorial service at 2:30pm. The family would like to invite all their guests to a reception at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, (324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420) who provided loving aid and guidance in a time of sore need.
