Carolyn "Joyce" Garling

GARLING, Carolyn "Joyce", age 86, of Washington Township, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was born on July 22, 1928 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Charles and Margaret Deserisy. Joyce graduated from Julienne High School. She was a member of Dayton Elks Lodge #58, the Dayton Elkettes, and she also volunteered for the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Garling; sons, Donald Jr. and Richard Garling; daughter-in-law, Kristine; and grandchild, Rusty. She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Jeff) Shaw; daughter-in-law, Shirley; grandchildren, Laura, Charlie, Emily, Shawn, Lee, Christopher, and Chad; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering with an Elks service at 6:45pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 27, 2014 also at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery.
