Christine A Volosin

VOLOSIN, Christine A. age 74, of Kettering passed away at home Friday, May 16, 2008. Born on July 7th 1933 to the late Joseph and Catherine Mommers. She is preceded in death by her brother Joseph Mommers. Chris is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ronald W. Volosin, daughters Cathy (Jim) Lockhart of Springboro, Christy (Bart) Gendt of Lewis Center, OH, Karen (Dan) Gouge of Sugarcreek Twp., sons Paul Volosin of Dayton, Robert Volosin of Kettering, granddaughters Nikki & Megan Lockhart, grandsons Brandon & Alex Gendt, Gabriel Gouge, great-granddaughters Baily & Olivia Lockhart, sister-in-law Theresa Mommers, brother-in-law Richard Volosin, sister-in-law Hank Volosin and many nieces, nephews and friends. Chris was born in Cleveland, OH, a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, where she majored in Art and Design. She was a charter member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Centerville and an active member of St. Leonard Faith Community of Centerville. She dedicated her life to her husband, her children and grandchildren. She served her community in many different ways as a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, CCD teacher, a volunteer at soup kitchens, assisted with rehabilitation of the handicapped, and donated her time to many charitable organizations. She was an inspiration to all those who knew her and will be greatly missed. I love you, Chris. We love you, Mom. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 24 at St. Leonard's Chapel, 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville, OH 45458 with Father Thomas Schmidt and Father Joseph Rigali, O.F.M. officiating. Chris's family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 4-7:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to The American Lung Association, W. Central Branch, Dayton office, 7560 McEwen Rd., Dayton, OH 45459-3906 or to St. Leonard's Benevolent Fund.
