Clarence Dale Lucas

LUCAS, Clarence Dale, age 89, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017. Dale was born March 28, 1928 to the late Wilbert and Edna Lucas in Washington Township. He graduated from Centerville high school in 1947. Dale was a member and volunteer at Normandy United Methodist Church. He was a carpenter by trade and built his own house. Dale built miniature furniture, and loved woodworking in general. He was fiercely loyal to his family, Reds Baseball, and the local basketball teams. Dale also enjoyed square dancing, bowling, gardening, and traveling. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chester Lucas. Dale is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis (Wright); children, Vicki (Ralph) Minamyer, Connie (Steve) Schwartz, Rob Lucas, Sherry (Tom) Carnahan, Jay Lucas; sisters, Pauline Griffith, Erma Gebhart, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Normandy UMC, 450 W Alex Bell Rd, Dayton, 45459. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St, Centerville. The family will greet friends from 4-6pm on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home.
