Connie Sue Yarger

YARGER, Connie Sue, age 61 of Kettering, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 24, 1951 to William J. and Willie Marie (Wilson) Owens. Connie graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1970 and went on to receive her degree in cosmetology. She owned and operated the Corner Studio hair salon on Wilmington Pike and was a member of the Red Hat Society of Preble County and a committee member for Kettering Relay for Life. Connie was a very caring and giving person who truly loved everyone. She was so affected by the Oklahoma City bombing that she not only raised funds for the victims, but drove all the way to there to deliver the funds in person to those who needed it most. From then on, Connie was known as "Oklahoma Hope". Halloween was one of her favorite holidays because she loved to sew and always had the best costume. Her lively spirit and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Connie is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Lee Yarger; children, Michael Yarger of Dayton, Kevin Yarger of Kettering, Christina (Jeff) Wilson of Kettering, Amber (Russell) Tazelaar of Illinois and Tim Yarger of Kettering; grandsons, Ricky and Garret; granddaughters, Bridgette, Ashley, Meagan, Taylor and Kelsey; sister, Carol O'Hair of Preble County; and two nieces and one nephew. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 6:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH, with a reception to follow at the funeral home.
