VIKOR, Desiderius, 93, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2009 at Maria-Joseph Care Center. Desiderius was born in Kishegyes, Hungary on January 22, 1915. Desiderius was educated in Hungary, where he received his J.D. degree from Francis Joseph Univ. in Szeged, Hungary. He continued his education in the U.S., where he received an M.A. from Washington Univ. and a Ph.D. in economics from St. Louis Univ. He taught economics at Memphis State Univ., North Dakota State Univ., the Univ. of Dayton, and Western Carolina Univ. Desiderius was the author of articles and monographs in economics. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Kovacs Vikor and grandson, Stephen M. Burk. Desiderius is survived by a daughter, Enikoe (Raymond M.D.) Vikor Burk of Nashville, TN, and a son, Desider L. (Marlene) Vikor, Ph.D. of Greenbelt, MD; grandchildren, Teresa M. Burk and Nicholas Vikor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Church of the Holy Angels, 218 K Street, Dayton, OH 45409 followed by a burial at Woodland Cemetery.
