Elizabeth Ann Kisch

June 21, 1949 — August 6, 2020

KISCH, Elizabeth Ann, age 71, of Kettering passed away August 6th, 2020. She was born in New London, Ohio in 1949 to Jay and Pat Thomas. She was a graduate of New London High School in 1967. Elizabeth had one year in college for nursing and then went to massage school. She furthered her massage education with craniosacral therapy and engaged in aromatherapy.

She was preceded in death by her 22-year-old son, Erik in 1996, killed by a drunk driver, and her 47-year-old daughter, Valery in 2017 who died of cancer. After the doctors gave Valery three weeks to live she had six more years following Elizabeth's recommendations of essential oils and homeopathies.

Her children's deaths were extremely grievous and wounding events in Elizabeth's life.
She worked in private practice, but spent four years working in Dr. Judy Jones' chiropractic office. Her work effected many people in an intimate way. She had a strong presence. Elizabeth, people often say, had a life well lived. She was quiet and introverted but very giving and loving. She gave a lot in her work that made a difference in other people's lives. She did not have a hard forceful touch, but a light, gentle, deep touch that conveyed the spirit that she was internalizing in them as she worked on her clients. She could lift people up with good intentions, integrity, and loving spirit. There was a spiritual preciousness in her touch. Her clients loved her. Elizabeth did not share her pain with others because she did not want to pain them. With a cry in their throats her clients said of her, "She was one of a kind. I had deep conversations with her when she worked on me." And another, "She had such a presence." And another, "She was so appreciative of me." And another, "She is in heaven with her children. She is fine and out of pain. She is smiling down at us." And another, "She filled a grand space in many lives." And yet another, "Her love is irreplaceable." And finally, "She was a mother to so many of us." Elizabeth was so deeply appreciated. She is deeply missed.

Elizabeth was a fine chef. She enjoyed sharing her creative dishes with guests. Elizabeth also grew tomatoes and cucumbers and had a sense of fulfillment sharing her crops with others.
It is natural for some time to be in depression following loss. But one would want to hold onto the positive memories of Elizabeth and her touching to maintain spiritual strength and love. And with those positive memories emerges a stronger person. In the realm Elizabeth is in now she can be with her son and her daughter. And her precious spirit is reaching down to Earth and both touching and healing lives.

Elizabeth was a devotee of the Indian guru Paramahansa Yogananda. On the morning of Thursday, August 6 her husband, Ronan, was in her room in Miami Valley Hospital and read to her two prayers of Yogananda that she gave to him. "The healing light is present in every cell of my body and I am well for thou art in me." And, "God's perfect health permeates every nook in my body sickness. Every cell in my body is filled with his healing light. And I am totally well as God's perfection is in me." He told her that Yogananda would be with her and she would be safe in heaven. An hour and a half later she passed.

As her husband drove to the funeral home later that afternoon two petite yellow gold finches flew across his car's windshield. He never saw birds like that in his neighborhood before - let alone fly across his windshield. And he knew this was a sign of Elizabeth in heaven. Ronan often misplaces his cell phone. That afternoon he used her cell phone to call himself. When he picked up the call back his phone said, "Elizabeth calling." And with a painful cry he felt deeply touched by her contact.

Elizabeth is so sadly missed by so many.
