Frederick Worthington Gage

December 27, 1912 — March 20, 2002

GAGE, Frederick Worthington, age 89 of Centerville died Wednesday, March 20, 2002. He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church. Frederick received his BS from Illinois Weslyan University and his MS from Northwestern University. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Frederick was a member of the American Chemical Society and was written up as a ''Who's Who'' in that society. He also was a member of the Criterion Club, Akron Rubber Group, Akron Symphony Orchestra, Kettering Civic Band and the Engineer's Club of Dayton. He was an inventor who held several patents and was voted one of Dayton's outstanding engineers. Frederick's last job prior to retiring was as General Manager for Dayton Chemical and Coatings, a Division of Whittaker Corporation in Eaton, Ohio. He was an avid tennis player and belonged to Dayton Indoor Tennis Club and was a world traveler. Frederick was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally Gage; survived by his wife, Jonne Crisman Gage of 27 years; sons, John Peter Crisman and Steven M. Crisman and his wife Barbara; grandchildren, Jennifer, Alyson, Stefanie Crisman and Shannon Leigh Crisman; sons, Richard Gage and his wife Karen, and Frederick W. Gage, Jr. and his wife Sarah; grandchildren, Joshua Harrington Gage, Jackson Gabell Gage and Geneva Frances Gage; sister Betty Finch. A private family interment at David's Cemetery will take place at a later date.
