Gordon Theodore Ersted

age 88 of Kettering died Thur., Oct. 4, 2001 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. He was born in Sioux Falls, S.D. and graduated from Brookings Institute and the University of Minnesota. Gordon was a life-long member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church. He was a registered professional engineer, a lifelong member of A.S.M.E., a member of the Triangle Fraternity, serving for six years on the National Council and was national president for one year. For many years, Gordon read to the elementary school students at The Miami Valley School. Preceded in death by his wife, Carla in May, 2000; his parents, Carl and Marie Ersted; 2 sisters, Ruth Ersted and Doris Ersted McNamara; and a brother, Robert Ersted. Survived by a son Thomas (Ellen) Ersted; a daughter Mary (Dr. Cyrus) Rahimi and granddaughters, Emily and Amanda Rahimi; a brother, Woodrow (Dorothy) Ersted; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by Thomas and Ellen Ersted's children, Lucas (Tracy) Shoemaker, their son Jeremiah; Noelle Shoemaker and her daughter Olivia; and son, Josiah Shoemaker. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 6, 2001 in the Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 3705 Far Hills Ave., Dayton with Dr. Robert Wade officiating.
