Helen Ruth Mccurdy

McCURDY, Helen Ruth (Ruth), age 84, of Centerville, Ohio passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 30, 1929 in Stockport, Ohio, one of six children of Fred and Wilda James. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred Ashcraft and Elizabeth Pugh; brother, Fred (Kent) James and former spouse Roy C. McCurdy. She is survived by her three children, Greg (Beth) McCurdy of Tampa, FL, David (Debbie) McCurdy of Centerville, OH and Jayne (Rob Smith) McCurdy of Centerville, OH. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jamie (Joe) Walker, Megan McCurdy, Lyndsey McCurdy and Jessica McCurdy; two sisters, Elma Marie (Henry) Schrader of Columbus, OH and Jeannene (Jerry) Muse of Stockport, OH and many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews and special friends. Ruth was a long time member of the Centerville United Methodist Church where she remained active in many activities until her illness. All who knew her had a most generous and caring friend, and she will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 9:00 AM 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 20 at Centerville United Methodist Church, 63 East Franklin St, Centerville, OH, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at the church. Burial will be at Centerville Cemetery in Centerville, OH. A reception to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at the church following the burial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Ruth to the church or to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, Oh, 45420.
