Helen V. Muessig

MUESSIG, Helen V. (Cruzan), age 101, of Simi Valley, CA, formerly of Centerville, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013. She was born on August 28, 1912 in Dayton, OH. Helen graduated from Steele High and from Wittenberg College. She received a Masters in Education from the University of So. California and taught in the Dayton Public Schools and at Gorman Orthopedic School for 35 years. Helen was a member of the Dayton First Lutheran Church. She was a member of Hithergreen Senior Center and sang with the Hithergreen Chorale. She also played the Dulcimer with the Hithergreen Strummers. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lenora Cruzan; her husband, John Muessig; brother, Harold Cruzan and his wife Ethel; and best friend, Marjorie Downie. She is survived by four nieces and nephews, four great nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews. Helen also leaves her cousin, Mary Helen Hull and husband Bill, of Kettering, their daughter Martha Allen and son Ryan; granddaughter, Cinda Harris, and her husband Terry of Springboro. Services will be at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, November 6th at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main Street, Centerville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
