Henry Alan Griffith

GRIFFITH, Henry Alan, age 90, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016. Henry was born in Hillsboro, OH on September 19, 1925 to the late Leslie M. and Blanche (Chaplin) Griffith. He graduated from Stivers High School in 1943 and earned a degree from Miami Jacobs Business College. Henry was intelligent, easy to get along with and had a witty sense of humor. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during WWII in the South Pacific. After his time in the military, he settled down with his soul mate, his loving wife of 55 years, Pauline. Henry retired from NCR after 42 years of service. He volunteered with the city of Kettering for 24 years and was also a Monarch with Ormus Grotto. Henry is preceded in death by his parents and son, Gary Griffith. He is survived by his wife, Pauline of Kettering, OH, his son, Terry Griffith of Medina, OH, 3 grandchildren, Lance, Tabitha and Terry Alan Griffith, 8 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 11am-1:00pm with Masonic Services at 12:45pm, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 North Main Street, Centerville. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Clay Bates officiating. Burial at Centerville Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the kind and loving staff of the ICU at Miami Valley Hospital for the care given to Henry in his final days.
