DURIG, Hilda May, age 94, of Centerville, widow of Elmer Carl Durig, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
She was born September 20, 1918 and preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Maude Larimore, sister, Miriam Szucs and husband Mike, grandson, Robert Carl Durig, daughter-in-law, Kay Decker Durig. She is survived by sons, Merrill (Elaine) Durig and Martin (Teresa) Durig; daughter, Marian (Dick) Bauer; eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn (Jim) Strong and many nieces, nephews, and special friends, and especially life-long friend Donna Murphy Hynes.
Hilda graduated from Roosevelt High School Class of '36, member of Grail Club, vice-president of the junior and senior class, was an employee of Lau Blower and Citizen Federal, and a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed fellowship with all her family and friends.
She enjoyed participating in the activities of Bethany Village where she lived since 2004. The family would like to express their appreciation to the many nurses and caregivers of Bethany Home.
Family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 13, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, with the service following at 2:00 PM conducted by Pastor Gary Eichhorn. Internment will be at David's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 155 E. Thruston Blvd., Oakwood, OH 45419-3833 or the charity of your choice.
