James A. "Jim" Coulter

March 2, 1929 — August 6, 2018

COULTER, James A. Jim, age 89, of Dayton, passed away on August 6, 2018. Jim was born on March 2, 1929 in New Castle, PA, to the late John and Florence (Kennedy) Coulter. He graduated from New Castle HS in 1947 and went on to serve his country in the Navy. While stationed in Maine he met his future wife Madeline Georgette Jeri Dionne. Following his service, Jim graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering, and accepted a position with NCR in Dayton, OH. Jim was a member of the Dayton Pilots Club, an avid gardener, and genealogist in his free time. Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 60 years, Jeri Coulter; and his daughter, Claudette Coulter. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Randy) Davis and Kathleen (Bob) Sandman; grandchildren, Nathan, Jesse, Faith, Taylor, Daniel, Stephanie (Sam), Sara, William, and Max; great-grandchild, John; and numerous extended family and friends. A visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock AV, New Wilmington, PA 16142, from 10-11am, on Saturday, August 11, 2018, with a service to follow. Burial at Neshannock Presbyterian Cemetery.
