James John Nicholas

age 48, of Vandalia, died on Tuesday, February 6, 2001. He retired as a mechanical engineer for the City of Vandalia, Park and Recreation Dept. and was a past parish council member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Preceded in death by his mother, Anne Nicholas and his uncle, Danny Nickolas. Survived by his wife of 24 years, Renee; daughter, Stephanie; son, Demetri; mother-in-law, Helen Stephan; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Kathy (Elias) Spyrou and Theodora (Joel) Williams; uncle and his wife, Ted (Mary) Leakas; 2 aunts, Dora Protos and Ann Nickolas; niece, Angel Spyrou; 2 nephews, Gregory and Stephen Spyrou; cousin and his wife, Jim (Diane) Leakas; cousin, Theo Leakas; cousin and goddaughter, Krista Leakas; cousin, Becky Ziehler; cousins, Andrew and Stephen Ziehler; cousin, John Nickolas, cousin and his wife, Jim (Shelley) Nickolas; cousin and her husband, Melpo (Dean) Murdakis and their children; godparents, Peter and Ann Trohatos; goddaughter, Anna Stathes; and many other special aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, in The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park N., Dayton, with Father Stratton W. Dorozenski officiating. Visitation will take place Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with Trisagion prayers at 7:30 p.m. at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Burial at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton.
