James P. Huchison

HUCHISON, James Prior, age 98, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010. James was born March 30, 1911 in Newark, Ohio and graduated from Wilmington Ohio�s high school in 1928. He graduated from Denison University class of 1933. James served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant from 1936-1938 and was part of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity; Masonic Eastern Star Lodge #55, Franklin, Ohio; Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Shrine, Antioch Temple, Dayton, Ohio; Jestors, Dayton Court #10; Dayton Sales Leaders Club; Miami Valley Bridge Association; Mount Pleasant Cemetery Association; and Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Poasttown Ohio. James received awards from YMCA, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Dayton Ohio Presidents Club. He loved playing duplicate bridge, traveling in his motor home and fishing. James is preceded in death by his first wife Shirley B. Huchison; second wife Irma M. Huchison; parents Col. Eldon A. and Elsie B. Huchison. He is survived by his son Richard A. and Diane Huchison, Sr. of Dayton, OH; step-son William C. and Dixie Baker of West Carrollton, OH.; grandchildren William C. Huchison; Richard A. and Tammy Huchison; James D. and Veronica; Edward A. Huchison; Richard and Rebecca Baker; Steve and Colleen Jacobs; great-grandchildren Lyndsey, Megan, Jared, Casey, Quincy, Kyle, Brittnay, Brandon, Breana and Bailey. Visitation will be held Friday, February 5, 2010 at 5:00-7:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering OH 45429. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 6, 10:00AM also at Routsong Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Arabic Club Foundation or Antioch Shrine Foundation both at 107 E. First St., Dayton, OH 45402.
