James T. Reppert (Lt. Colonel U.S. Army Ret.)

REPPERT, James T. (Lt. Colonel U.S. Army Ret.) of Centerville, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray Paul Reppert and Wilma Ross Samuels; sisters, Margaret Lindsey (Bill), Jeanne Pickett of Canton, Ohio; step-son, Robert Catchpool, and first wife, Joyce Logan. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia (Mahon); daughters, Pamela (Kurt) of Fischer, Texas, Jana Gay of Miamisburg, Ohio and Jill (Mike) Bartolotta, of Centerville, Ohio; sons, Jeffrey (Judith) Reppert of Miller, Missouri, Gregory (Kathy) Reppert of St. Louis, Missouri, Michael Reppert of Vandalia, Ohio, and James Catchpool Windi of Austin, Texas, ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Jim attended the University of Maryland, Sinclair Community College, and U.S. Army Officers Candidate School. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army in 1952 and served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He also served in Germany, Japan, and the Republic of China, and several locations in the CONUS. Jim received numerous awards and decorations for his army service, including the Joint Service and Army Commendation medals and the Bronze Star. He was most proud of his Army Good Conduct Medal that he received for enlisted service between 1949 and 1952.

Since Jim retired from the Army, he has held positions with industry as well as being self-employed in a variety of occupations. Jim was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Antioch Shrine. He served his community as a member of the Centerville City Council and the Board of Architectural Review. He served as a member of the Vestry at both St. Francis and St. George’s Episcopal Church. He was a founder and trustee of the Americana Festival, Inc. and the Landmarks Foundation, a past member of the Fire Dependents Board, Past President of the Centerville-Washington Twp Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club of Centerville, and the Dayton Chapter of the Retired Officers Association. Above all, Jim was a very special and loyal friend to many people.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00am Thursday, July 1 at St. Georges Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45429. Inurnment of ashes in Centerville Cemetery.
