Jean Bonita Smith

SMITH, Jean, age 78, of Bellbrook, OH, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Jean was born to the late Cecil and Mary (nee Thibbideau) Gouchie on July 15, 1938 in Amherst, Nova Scotia Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Charles L. Smith. Jean is survived by her daughters, Shari (Jack) Bowman, Holly (Ken) Hall, Alison (Robby) McManaman, Leslie (Bill) Shoup, son Tim (Maria) Kuttschrutter and step-daughter Lee Ann O'Rourk. She had 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren that she loved very much. She attended the Betty Massey School of Design, which launched a long career in the fashion and retail industry. Most recently, she managed the Secret Ingredient in Town and Country Shopping Center for many years before retiring in 2014. Jean's customers and employees meant the world to her The family would like to thank Jeans past employees for all the love and support shown to her throughout the years. The family would also like to thank the staff at Home Instead and Hospice of Dayton for all the compassionate care they gave to Jean. Family will greet friends from 3:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH with a memorial service to follow at the funeral home.
