Joe L. Bailey Jr.

BAILEY, Joe L. Jr., age 78, of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2002 at Grandview Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Centerville Methodist Church. Joe received his Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson College and was owner and operator of Bailey's Concessions. Joe was past president of the Centerville Lions Club and also past president and organizer of the Washington Twp Lions Club. He was a member of Mystic Lodge F&AM #405, Scottish Rite and Antioch Shrine. Other memberships included the Greater Ohio Showman's Association and the Community Grange. Joe served in the Air Force during WWII. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe L. Bailey Sr. and Mary Bailey (Phillips) and his brother, Gene Bailey. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Bailey (Lanford); daughter, Pat Bailey of Springfield; son, Joe Bailey III and his wife, Roberta of Waynesville; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie, Cory, Nicole and Michelle Bailey; sister, Fran Pinson; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Grandview and Southview Hospital and their many friends. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 10:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St. Centerville, with Pastor David L. Jongewaard and Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 4-8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held Friday at 7:30PM at the funeral home.
