June 8, 1938 — May 1, 2021

MOSKELAND, John Bromley, age 82, of Centerville, OH passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Bethany Village Memory Care Center.

John graduated from Coupeville High School on Whidbey Island in Coupeville, WA in 1956. He went on to graduate with a BS in Forest Products Management from the University of Washington in 1963. John retired in 2001 from Louisiana Pacific Plywood Plant as manager, and continued to work for a number of years as a consultant for Georgia Pacific in plants located all across the southeast.

He was heavily involved in his community and belonged to numerous clubs and organizations. John was a member of the Living Beatitudes Community Church, Co-member of the Sisters of Loretto religious community, and a member of the Anti-Racism Committee of Loretto Community. He served as president of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church Men’s Club, as well as a board member of the Diocesan Committee in Shreveport, LA. John founded The Wizard’s Investment Club, and was co-founder of White Wing Dove Renewal Center in Keithville, LA. He worked in religious education as an RCIA catechist instructor, as well as organizing Catholic awareness week.

John was a kind and gentle person who loved his family above all. He knew no strangers and had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and loved. John was an excellent manager, treating his employees with respect and care. He was excited to travel with his family after his retirement, often visiting Mexico and Europe. John could immediately identify every tree or flower and created beautiful landscaping and gardens around his home. He was an incredible handyman who could fix or build anything, even when his wife said “let’s knock down a wall”. John was also a creative artist, as seen in the artwork in the homes of his family.

He is preceded in death by children, Mark and Jude Moskeland; parents, John Oliver and Mary (Bromley) Moskeland; and sisters, Mary Janet Gore and Margaret Bland. John is survived by wife, Lillian (Bruce-Novoa) Moskeland; daughter, Andrea (Vincent) Cobb; sister, JoAnn Mulligan; grandchildren, Michael (Stephany) Cobb, Benjamin (Natalie Cooper) Cobb, Samuel Cobb, and Sophia Cobb; great-granddaughter, Logan Nicole Cobb, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
