Jon P. Poelking

POELKING, Jon P., age 66 of Kettering, passed away 19, January 2010 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born February 27, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio. Jon was preceded in death by his father Joseph T. Poelking Sr. in 1988; mother Margaret Poelking in 2005; two brothers Joseph T. Poelking Jr. in 1996 and Jerome Poelking in 2003; in-laws Robert and Marguerite DeBrosse. Jon is survived by his loving and devoted wife Linda (DeBrosse). He was a loving father and grandfather to his family. Survived by three daughters, Sandra D’Agostino of Oakwood, Lori and Jeffery Igel of Oakwood, Jill and Carl Romer of Kettering and seven grandchildren; Marissa, Alana and Jack D’Agostino, Sara Poelking and Justin Igel, Carl (C.J.) and Danielle Romer; one brother and wife, James and Phyllis Poelking of Pompano Beach, Florida; three sisters Virginia Poelking of Kettering, Margaret (Peggy) Russell of Centerville, Linda and Barton Weprin of Centerville. Also surviving are two sister-in-laws, Lynn Poelking of Clearwater, Florida and Helen Witt of Kettering; a brother-in-law David DeBrosse of Bellbrook, along with many nieces and nephews. Jon was an officer with Poelking Bowling Centers until his retirement in 2002. He held many former positions with Bowling Groups. Jon was Chairman of the Bowl for Hospice fundraiser (1998-2009) and also served as a volunteer and a consultant for Hospice of Dayton Foundation (2003-2009). He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2010 at Holy Angels Church, 218 K Street, Dayton OH with internment at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 21 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering.
