Katheren Michaelson

MICHAELSON, Katheren (Katina), age 93. Born in Agrinion, Greece and immigrated to Dayton with husband and daughters in 1957. Preceded in death by husband of 57 years Thomas, two brothers and two sisters in Greece. Survived by daughters Dena Michaelson, Mary (Bill) Lee, grandchildren Tom Lee, Katie (Chad) Townsend, great grandchildren Megan and Jessica Lee, Anabelle and Will Townsend, sister Evgenia Baou of Athens, Greece, and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from Blue Bird Baking Company. A woman of deep faith, she was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. A hard worker all her life, she excelled at baking bread and Greek pastries and distributing to family and friends. She loved to walk and for years could be seen on the track of Oakwood HS and neighboring streets. She was a special "Yiayia" and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 on Monday, March 7th at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH with Trisagion prayers at 5:00. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 8th at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park N., Dayton, OH 45405. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Church or to a charity of your choice.
