LEGG, Katja D., age 80, of Beavercreek, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. Katja was born in Erlangen, Germany and moved to the United States in 1959. She became a citizen of the United States in April, 1970. She earned her GED and became a Licensed Medical Assistant in 1987. She completed her Associate’s Degree in nursing from Sinclair University in 1991 and obtained her license as an RN in 1992. After working in home health care for a number of years, she began working for Dayton Correctional Institution in 1995. She worked there for ten years and retired from Dayton Correctional Institution in 2005. Katja enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren, especially taking them on vacations to New York City and Virginia Beach.

She was preceded in death by her son, Carl Edward Legg II; her daughter, Vicky Siipola and grandson, Nathan Siipola. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Buddy Huffman; grandchildren, Benjamin Huffman (Brianne), Zachary Huffman (Nicole), Alexander Huffman (Rachel) and Julia Stubbs (Jonathon); and great grandchildren, Milo and Westley Huffman-Byrne, Wyatt and Maeve Huffman and Isla Stubbs.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Friday, August 20, 2021 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. STROOP RD., KETTERING.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. Fond memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.routsong.com.
