Larry K. Holland

Holland, Larry K., 68, resident of Centerville, OH and Kiawah Island, SC, passed away at Kettering Medical Center on Monday, October, 29, 2012. Larry was born in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Warren (Pete) Holland and Imogene Diehl. He was a 1962 graduate of Xenia High School. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force, and as a transport medic in Vietnam. Larry graduated from Wright State University with a business degree. He was president of SAM, the marketing organization on campus. As an alumnus, Larry was an avid Wright State basketball fan and could be found in the front row at almost all Raider basketball home games. Larry worked at the Peter Kuntz Co (PK) as a salesman, buyer, and in store management. He retired from CESO Tes Tech, a civil engineering firm, where he was the marketing manager. Larry was co-founder of the Kettering JC's and served as Vice President. He enjoyed the float building, the haunted houses, and the friendships. Larry served on the board of the Dayton Golf Association. He also served eight years on the board of Sycamore Creek Country Club, and as its President. Larry was a member of the Kiawah Island Golf Club Association in South Carolina, as well as Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed traveling and golfing all over the world. Above all, Larry had a joy of living, a gift of gab, and a love of people. He was thoughtful, generous, and had an outrageous sense of humor! Larry is survived by his loving family, his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou (Baker) Holland; daughters, Christina Holland McElfresh and Jennifer Holland; grandson, Rylar Holland; brother, Kurt Holland; sister, Cindy Fleshman; and mother-in-law, Rose Baker. The family will greet friends on Saturday, November 3, from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 North Main Street, Centerville. A memorial service will follow at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Larry and Mary Lou Holland Scholarship Fund in care of Kettering Education Foundation, 3750 Far Hills Avenue, Kettering, Ohio 45429.
