Leonard F Johnson

JOHNSON, Leonard F., 89, a gentle man, passed away on Friday December 19, 2008 at Bethany Village. Len was a retiree from the Chrysler Corporation and proudly served his country with the U. S Army during WWII. He was a faithful servant of Christ United Methodist Church for many years, serving as an usher and on many committees and was a member of the Kettering Kiwanis. Len was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sarah Johnson; in-laws, Ray and Vida Smiley; brothers, Forrest and Ray Johnson and sister, Una Joyner. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha; daughter, Pamela (Phillip) Black; son, Steven (Judy) Johnson; three grandsons, Stephen (Beth) Black, Peter (Susan) Johnson, Andrew (Bethany) Black; great-grandson, Caleb Black; sister, Winnie Pridemore; brother-in-law, Dick Smiley and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Christ United Methodist Church, Kettering, with Dr. Judith Hadley officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service.
