Loira Sue Skidmore

SKIDMORE, Loira Sue, age 74, of Centerville, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022. Sue was born April 15, 1948 to Charles Banes and Bonnie (Van Zant) Abner. Along with her husband Frank, she traveled the world, visiting the Smoky Mountains, Bali, Maine, and Australia. Sue was a loving and tenacious woman with a good sense of humor. She loved trivia night, family game night, and any family gatherings, but especially loved the grandkids’ Christmas Party. She was dedicated to her faith and loved her family fiercely. Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Charles and Opal Brooks; her twin children, Christopher Skidmore and Christina Lane; and brother-in-law, John. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 56 years, Frank Skidmore; children, Frank and Layne (Tonya) Skidmore; grandchildren, Courtney Bertrand, Matt Adams, and Mitchell Skidmore, Sydney Skidmore, Corey Skidmore, Reagan Lane, and Sean Lane, Mackenzie Skidmore, and Alli Cloyd; great-grandchildren, Finn, Cora, Lexi, Parker; nieces and nephews, Hollie, Shellie, Matt, Mark, Jeremy, and Ryan; sisters, Darlene King and Sherry Penney; brother-in-law, Michael, and numerous loving friends and extended family in the Dayton area. 

Family will greet friends Monday, January 9 from 4:00pm-6:00-pm at Routsong Funeral Home, Centerville. Memorial Services will begin at 6:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Sue’s name to the American Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
