Louisa Webb (Charlton) Whitton "Louise", age 89, of Monroe, died on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Mt. Pleasant Nursing facility in Monroe, OH. She was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 2006. Louise was born on July 19, 1925 in Dayton, OH to James and Isabella Charlton. She married Robert H. Whitton in Dayton, OH on April 12, 1946. Robert passed away on March 2, 2006. Louise was also preceded in death by her brother, James W. Charlton Jr., sister, Beatrice A. Charlton and her daughter, Rhonda Louise Whitton-Allan. Louise is survived by her son, James (Patricia), her grandsons, Bryan (Lora), Robert (Stephanie), and granddaughters, Laurie (Sam) and Audra. Louise was blessed with six wonderful great-grandchildren, Susan, Zachary, Tyler, Addison, Lindsey and Madison. Louise was a lifetime resident of the greater Dayton area. She graduated from Stivers High School in 1943. She was a homemaker, but also worked at Bell Telephone, Lowe Brothers, Foltz Bakery and Elder Beerman corporate offices through the years. She also volunteered with the Welcome Wagon and with her lovely voice, sang in church choirs. She was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church for many years, and in her later years, she was a member of Presbyterian Church in Monroe, OH. She loved to socialize with friends, visit with assisted living residents at Mt. Pleasant, and she had a special talent for sketching and drawing. Her sketches were cherished by many of the residents at Mt. Pleasant. Her body will be cremated and buried next to her husband at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, Vandalia, OH. A memorial service will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 225 Britton Ln., Monroe, OH on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village Life Care, 225 Britton Ln., Monroe, OH 45050, the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or your local Hospice. The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to the Mt. Pleasant nursing and Senior Independence Hospice staffs for their love and support in her final days.
