Marie Elizabeth Cleary

CLEARY, Marie Elizabeth, age 94, of Kettering, OH passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Marie was born to the late Louis and Cora (Christ) Baller on July 31, 1918 in Dayton, OH. She graduated from Stivers High School in 1936 where she was voted by classmates as "Most Beautiful Freshman." Marie worked for the Dayton Public Library in West Carrollton. She was involved many years with Girl Scouts of America and many other organizations in Florida where Marie spent many winters. She enjoyed traveling to places such as Ireland, Alaska and California. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas A. Cleary; brother, Robert Baller, his wife Patricia and brother-in-law Albert VanAtta. Marie is survived by her son, James (Janet) Cleary of CA; daughters, Chris (Steve) Raines of Kettering, OH and Peggy Aracri of Oakwood, OH; grandchildren, Penny Vanderwolk, John (Laura) Cleary, Sally (Tim) Lahmon, Marcy (Chris) Holland and Andrew (Jenny) Aracri; Great-grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, Mackenzie, Jack, Luke, Sam, Ben, Kelsey, Reese and Alyse; sister, Dorothy VanAtta and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends from 10:30am-11:30am Saturday, May, 4 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429 with a celebration of life service to follow at 11:30am. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all those who cared for and extended their love to Marie. Marie's intelligence, determination and zest for life coupled with her positive attitude was an inspiration.
