Marilyn Carol Motter

December 24, 1937 — July 19, 2020

MOTTER, Marilyn C., passed away on July 19, 2020 at 10 Wilmington Place, Dayton, Ohio. Marilyn was born and raised in Canton, Ohio, graduating from Central Catholic high school. She was a giving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend; and was loved for her brilliant smile and willingness to listen. After losing her husband David, much too early in her life, she renewed her love for travel and was able to spend more time with family. She was very creative and artistic as shown in her work with stained glass, painting, and other crafts. This creativity extended outdoors with her award-winning flowers and garden, recognized by the local community. Marilyn has always believed that fulfillment comes from family; a family that always provided love and great strength.

Marilyn is survived by her sister Emma Shockley of Dayton, OH; children Karen Fischbach (Mike) of Delaware, OH, Linda Gorman (Max) of McKinney, TX, Susan Voelkl (Ted) of Miamisburg, OH, Mike Motter (Tracey) of Mantua, OH, and Mark Motter (Janis) of Annandale, NJ; grandchildren Kyle Fischbach (Ashley), Kurt Fischbach (Heather), Tori Grodecki (Joe), Courtney Jayjohn (Erick), Chris Gorman (Abby), Michelle Crossman (Steve), Monique Gorman, Katy Pirozhkov (Roman), Saundra Neisen (Mike), Jillian Carlson, Megan Carlson, Alyssa Motter, Kaylee Motter and Sarah Motter; and great-grandchildren Dmitry and Karsten Fischbach, Evan, Leah, Bryson Fischbach, Emersyn Grodecki, McKenna and Chloe Gorman, Ashlynn Crossman, Grace and Tommy Neisen and Thaddeus Quinn III.
