Marilyn Sue Mesing

MESING, Marilyn Sue, age 66, of Centerville, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Marilyn was born on April 7, 1953 to Earl and Blanche (Stilwell) Thornell in Decatur, IN. She graduated from Heritage High School and attended Purdue University. Marilyn had a servant’s heart and enjoyed volunteering in the Epiphany Lutheran Church Pantry, serving the needs of the community for many years. Marilyn cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She was humble and loved to meet new people and learn their stories.


Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Paul R. Mesing; children, Brian (Kristin) Mesing of Tehachapi, CA, Kristina (Robert) Hostetter of Centerville, OH, Laura (Charles) Cantrell of Troy, OH; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Richard Thornell of Sulphur Springs, IN, Donald Thornell of White Lake, MI; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

Family will greet friends on Sunday, November 10 from 2:00-5:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429. A Funeral Service will take place Monday, November 11 at 10:00 am at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6430 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH 45459, with a final resting place at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Marilyn’s name to Epiphany Lutheran Church Pantry, 6430 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH 45459.
