Marjorie L. Bates

February 20, 1915 — January 28, 2004

of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at Kettering Medical Center. Marjorie was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, the Civic Club and the Historical Society of Centerville. She was also a member of the Forest Park Women’s Club and a former member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, She retired from Forest Park Green Hills School System. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bates in 1983. Survived by 3 daughters, Pamela Bates of Centerville, Judy (Dick) Healy of Dallas, TX and Barbara (Michael) Wince of Indianapolis, IN; 3 grandchildren, William Healy of Dallas, TX, Patricia Healy of Austin, TX, Dr. Ben Wince of Atlanta, GA; and sister, Mildred Tappan of Naples, FL. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Centerville, with Pastor David J. Jongewaard officiating. Family will receive friends from 10-11:00 AM at the church. Inurnment in Oak Hill Cemetery, Springdale, OH. In memory of Marjorie, contributions may be made to Southminster Presbyterian Church, 7001 Far Hill Ave., Centerville, OH 45459 or the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 517, Dayton, OH 45401-0517.
