Mary Alice Fenelon

FENELON, Mary Alice (Brinkman), age 94, of Madison, Alabama, formerly of Kettering, passed away on September 12, 2010. She was born on May 5, 1916, and was recently living with her daughter in Alabama after residing in the Dayton area for 90 years. Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Roy J. Fenelon. She is survived by five children: James Fenelon of CA, Sue Ann Curd of FL, Mary Beth (Chris) Celebrezze of North Royalton, Paula (Paul) Dvorsky of AL, and Richard Fenelon of IN. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Survived by siblings Charles Brinkman, Jeannette Stragand, and Ruth Woolley, and preceded in death by her sister Margaret Thaler and brother Robert Brinkman. Mary Alice was a longtime member of St. Anthony and St. Charles Borromeo Parishes. She was a graduate of Julienne High School, and attended Mt. St. Joseph's College for two years. She retired after a career as a legal/financial secretary for local attorneys, UD, Mead Corp., and LM Berry. She and Roy continually made personal sacrifices so their children had the opportunity for higher education. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an expert at all types of needlework. Visitation will be Monday, September 20, 2010, from 5 to 8PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday September 21, 2010, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
