Mary Domi

DOMI, Mary, age 91, died July 7, 2003. Mary had been a resident of Walnut Creek Nursing Center for the past 11 and ½ years. Born on September 17, 1911 in Argentine, Pennsylvania, she was a resident of Wyoming County, WV for 45 years until moving to Dayton, OH in 1970. Mary came to Dayton, OH from Sabine, WV where she had retired from the Wyoming County Board of Education as an elementary school cook. She also served as Wyoming County WV Deputy Assessor. After moving to Dayton she worked for the Montgomery County Board of Elections for 10 years and served as an active member of the Moraine Senior Citizens and the Garden Club. She attended and was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. In 1968 she received a letter of recognition from former President Lyndon B. Johnson for having five sons serving in the United States Air Force at once. Preceding her in death, her husband, Amedeo Domi May 18, 1961 and their son, Thomas Vito on September 18, 1933. Survived by 7 sons, Amedeo Jr. and Delores Domi of Dayton, OH, Albert Domi of Newport News Virginia, Doug and Ann Domi of San Diego, CA, Ron and Eva Domi of Summerville, SC, Larry and Cindy Domi of Dayton, OH, Jerry and Linda Domi of Kettering, OH, Gary and Christina Domi of Huber Heights, OH; 2 daughters, Loretta and Charles Agnor of Kettering, OH and Gloria and Sonny Herbert of Centerville, OH; brother, Angelo Codispot of Kannapolis, NC and sister, Helen Nolan of Hobe Sound, FL; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills, Ave., Kettering, OH, Thursday, July 10, 2003 at 12:00 noon, Father James Manning officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Beckley, WV. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
