Mary Lois Varney

Varney, Mary Lois (Bray), age 66, of Kettering, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 to be with the Lord. The battle was long, but she has moved on. Mary was born in Clay County, KY to the late Dennis and Nancy Bray. She graduated from Redbird High School in Beverly, KY. Mary was a longtime employee of 38 years from Apex, where she retired in 2012. She had a "Green Thumb" and loved working in her yard, gardening and canning vegetables to share with her family. Mary loved to camp at Longs Retreat and looked forward to April 1 to start the camping season. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Bray, Percy Bray and George Bray; special brother-in-laws, Roger Simmons, Kenneth Schick and Reed Varney; and sister, Kathleen Vincent (Hoit). Mary is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Curtis Varney; sons, Michael Reed Varney (Emily), and Jerry Glenn Couch (Sandy); grandchildren Jordan Couch, Charlotte Couch, Katrina Couch, Lilly Couch; brothers and sisters, Ralph Bray of Kentucky, Ronald Bray (Judy) of Maineville, Ohio, Sophia Simmons of Beavercreek, Ohio, Tammy Siler (Gary) of Kettering, Ohio, Clara J. Schick of Bellbrook, Ohio, Geneva Bray of Enon, Ohio and Irene Napier (Roscoe) of Miamisburg, Ohio. She has always been surrounded with love from all of her nieces and nephews, with a special mention to niece and caregiver Trish (Mike) Dillon, great niece Morgan Dillon and her special Buddy, her dog "Cindy". "Mimi" will be missed by so many but will always be in our hearts. We love you so much. The family will greet friends from 2:00pm 4:00pm on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E.
