Mary Margaret Greene

GREENE, Mary Margaret, age 88, of Kettering, passed away on Thursday, July 03, 2014. She was born on June 23, 1926 in Portsmouth, OH to the late William and Bessie Liston. Mary earned her Bachelor's Degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH and her Master's Degree from Wright State University. She retired after 36 years of working as a school teacher from the Kettering City School System. Mary was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church and also belonged to Bara Ct. #15 Ladies Oriental Shrine, Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Teachers Sorority, and Walnut Grove Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. "Pete" Greene; daughter-in-law, Carole Greene; great-grandson, Dennis Walton III; and brother and sister, William Liston and Ruth Carroll. Mary is survived by her son, Richard Greene; granddaughters, Melissa Walton and Kristina Bebko; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Family will greet friends from 10:00am-12:00pm on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering with a funeral service at 12:00pm officiated by Rev. Mark Damschroder. Burial will be held in David's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.
