Patricia A. Aicher

February 1, 1942 — July 9, 2014

Patricia Ann Aicher, born in Dayton, Ohio at Good Samaritan Hospital on February 1, 1942 lost a brief struggle against cancer on July 9, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. A graduate of Julienne High School, Patricia Ann Yike attended the University of Cincinnati and became a member of Beta Sigma Phi. And, while interning at NCR International Advertising, met, fell in love with and married Fredrick T. Aicher. Fred was a graduate of Chaminade and the University of Dayton. The two shared passions for art, music and life. They were blessed with two children, Laura Daily of Lebanon, TN and Greg Aicher of Gahanna, OH and four grandchildren Katherine Rose and Margret Ann Daily and Emma Riley and Liam Michael Aicher. As a confirmed Catholic and an active parishioner at Holy Angels Church, Pat was a long time member of NAIM and a Life Member of the Dayton Catholic Women's Club. She spent many years with the widows group of Normandy Lane. She was an active member for over 50 years with the Dayton Theatre Guild, as well as many other theaters, where she filled countless roles, both on and off stage. A few of her many memorable roles were: Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf at the State Theater in Dayton, Vicki in My Fat Friend at the Dayton Theater Guild, as well as Sister Susan in the outdoor drama Trumpet in the Land, Ohio Outdoor Historical Drama Association. After the death of her husband Fred, she became a licensed medical massage therapist. She served several terms with both the State and National levels of the American Massage Therapist Association. In addition, she was a Water Aerobics Instructor at several locations around Dayton. Besides Fred, she was preceded in death by her Mother, Mary Rose Owens Yike Beatty and Father Wm. J. Yike Sr., her brother Wm. J. Yike Jr. and his wife Maxine, as well as her beloved nephew Wm. J. Yike III and far too many dear friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Holy Angels Church 1322 Brown Street, Dayton, Ohio. Immediately following, a reception for family and friends will be held at the Dayton Theatre Guild 430 Wayne Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to the truly graceful Hospice of Dayton who make a profound impact on the quality of care to terminally ill loved ones and their families.
