Philip Michael Humerick

HUMERICK, Philip M., age 21, of Kettering, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 6, 2020. Philip was born on October 30, 1998 to Michael and Gina (Groves) Humerick, in Kettering, OH.

He graduated from Fairmont High School class of 2017 where he excelled at all of his CTC classes. Philip was especially proud to be continuing on his education through the welding program at Miami Valley Career Technology Center, while working in the construction field.

He loved being outdoors and had many hobbies including hiking, kayaking, swimming, shooting guns, building rope swings, and off-road four wheeling. Philip will be remembered for being a hard worker, a jokester, and a kind hearted person, who always put others before himself. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Philip was a member of the Church of Christ, and has a beautiful hope of Heaven.

Philip is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Linda Groves; paternal grandmother, Deborah Roark; paternal great-grandmother, Beatrice Miller, and uncle, Robert Groves.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Gina Humerick; brother, Dustin Humerick; paternal grandfather, Charles Humerick Jr.; foster grandmother, Phyllis Drummond; uncles, Charles (Cindy) Humerick III, Walter (Kat) Groves, Thomas (Mary) Groves, and Ronald Groves; aunt, Sheila (Michael) Cuthrell; and numerous cousins, friends, and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 9-11am, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, 45429, with a service to follow at 11am.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, in memory of his grandmother Deborah Roark.
