Phyllis Dahlgren Smith

SMITH, Phyllis Dahlgren, age 92, born in Chicago, IL and formerly of Springfield, OH, died Monday, January 31, 2011. Phyllis was an excellent golfer playing at the Springfield CC, Snyder Park and Lake Wildwood CC in Grass Valley, CA. She loved to sew, entertain and was an accomplished bridge player. Her positive attitude, generous spirit and great sense of humor and fun will certainly be missed by her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anshelm and Anna Marie Dahlgren of Chicago and her loving husband, William H. Smith. She is survived by her children, Barbara S. Rion (John) and Bill Smith (Linda); grandchildren, Stacey MacDonald (John B.), Jon Paul Rion (Megan), Jennifer Rion-Gaboury (John), Ashley Watson (Andrew), Lindsey Sluder (Ely); and eleven great grandchildren. A private family service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to The Tecumseh Land Trust Stewardship Fund, Cox Arboretum Red Maple Society or Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm.
