NEAD, Rev. Alfred H., age 89, of Columbus, IN passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Born in Dayton, OH on August 13, 1923, Rev. Nead was the son of Monte C. and Margaret Mercer Nead. He married Betty Fort on June 27, 1943. Rev. Nead was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of Ohio Valley Presbyterian and was a Presbyterian Minister serving churches in Indiana and Ohio, he retired in 1988. Rev. Nead enjoyed his family and his hobbies include stamp collecting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 69 years; sons, Patrick (Susan) Nead of Bloomington, IN and Samuel (Danica) Nead of Hillsdale, MI; daughters, Barbara Nead of Nashville, TN and Shelia (Anthony) Canales of Granada Hills, CA; and four grandchildren. Rev. Nead was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Nead; brother, Dr. Dennis Nead; and sister, Virginia Nead. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, October 5, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Columbus, IN. Inurnment will take place at 10:30am on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at David's Cemetery in Kettering. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
