Richard C. Jacob

JACOB, Richard C. "Dick", age 71, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Troy to the late LeRoy and Mildred Jacob. Richard was raised in Piqua, graduated from Piqua Catholic High School in 1959, and resided in Kettering for the last 46 years. He served 2 years in the U.S Army Medical Corps. In 1966 Richard graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from The University of Dayton. He worked 27 years at NCR and provided the cost estimates for their new product releases. Richard completed his career working at PTI Inc. of Beavercreek as manager of cost estimating. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Regina and Rebecca; sister, Mary Agnes Jacob, brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Sandra Jacob, sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Dion Huffman, and brother-in-law, James Spettel. Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth; one son Daniel Jacob; two daughters, Mandy (Deric) Brown and Martha (Tony) Homan. Richard was the proud "Grandpa" of Jake, Brandon and Paige Brown; AJ and Alexis Homan. He is also survived by brother, Bernard (Nancy) Jacob and sister, Mildred Spettel. Richard was an active member of Ascension Parish for the last 46 years. The Family will greet friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH 45440. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering, OH 45420. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Richard to: Church of the Ascension and/or Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420. The family would like to send their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice of Dayton for all the care they provided for Richard.
