Richard G. Docken

DOCKEN, Richard G., age 77 of Beavercreek, formerly of Palm Harbor, FL passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton. Richard was a long-time member of Condordia Lutheran Church. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio State University, His Master’s Degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He returned to Ohio State University in 1965 to work on his PhD. Richard was a veteran of the U. S Air Force, having served in the post-Korean war. From 1952-1986, Richard worked as a research engineer in the Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratory, retiring in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Anita Greenawalt. Richard is survived by his spouse, Shirley; children, Elizabeth, Richard Jr., Charles and John; grandchildren Nathan, Grade and Marie; two brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 10:30 AM, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2502 East Peach Orchard Avenue, Dayton, OH 45419, with Pastor Sobocinski officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, OH. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
