Rita M. Kremer

KREMER, Rita M., age 100, of Washington Township, OH passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. Rita was born on September 15, 1922 in Minster, OH, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Drees) Koester. She graduated from Minster High School in 1940 and married her high school sweetheart, Walter Kremer in 1941. Rita was a dedicated mother in raising her six children. In her free time she enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and sewing, and made all kinds of goods for her family, including clothes, curtains, and of course aprons. She was also a self-taught artist and painter. Rita was an avid bingo player and could often be found spending time with her friends and loved ones at the bingo table. Her infectious laughter and caring nature will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 70 years, Walter Kremer; son, Doug Kremer; son-in-law, Doug Tompkins; and great-grandson, Cody.

She is survived by her children; Dale Kremer, Russell (Vicki) Kremer; Gary (Judy) Kremer, Judy (Doug) Tompkins, Debbie (Dave Finke) Kremer; daughter-in-law, Ann Kremer; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; siters-in-law, Jeannie Kremer and Martha Kremer; and numerous extended family and friends.

Rita’s family is so grateful for her many caretakers including Tammy, Jim, and the Hospice nurses at Wellington of Dayton.

A visitation will be held from 4-6PM on Thursday, December 15 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering. A service will be held the following day at 10:30AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd, Kettering. Burial in David’s Cemetery Mausoleum.
