Robert Jack Kritzer

KRITZER, Robert J., age 88, of Kettering passed away on November 8, 2016. He was born on November 13, 1927 in Emeigh, PA. Bob attended Penn State University on a football and track scholarship before transferring his freshman year to Michigan State University where he played football and ran track. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. Bob graduated with his Bachelors Degree in 1949 and earned his Masters Degree in 1955. Before coming to Kettering, he coached football in PA, MI and Toledo, OH. During his 27 years tenure in the Kettering City School system he coached track and cross-country. He retired in 1989. Bob was inducted into the Ohio High School Track and Cross-Country Coaches Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Fairmont Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. Bob dearly loved his wife Jean, and his sons Jack, Jim, Tim, and Tom. He was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Cathryn Kritzer, his brother Edward Kritzer, his sons Jack in 1975 and Jim in 2011; sister-in-law Sally Miller; and brother-in-law, Stewart Stanley. Bob is survived by his loving wife Jean; sons, Tim Kritzer and his wife Marianne of Anderson, IN, and Tom Kritzer of Kettering, OH; brother-in-law John Brigham and his wife Betty; sister-in-law Mary Stanley of Ormand Beach, FL. Also surviving are granddaughters, Amber Pinnock and her children Rachel and Rayanna Pinnock, Katie-Beth and her son Maxwell Lee Saunders of Sandy Springs, GA, and Heather Wadsworth and her children Mathew Wadsworth Jr. and Darcy Riley Wadsworth of New Bradenton, FL.; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop, Rd., Kettering. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Aim for the Handicapped or to a charity of your choice.
