Robert Joseph Hemmelgarn

HEMMELGARN, Robert "Bob" Joseph, age 82 of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Bob was born in St. Henry, Ohio on November 18, 1929 to Leo and Catherine (nee Backs) Hemmelgarn. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He worked and retired as an Insurance Adjustor after 31 years of service. Bob was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Milton Athletic Club and Eagles # 321. Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Elinor "Jane" Hemmelgarn, several brothers and sisters, and special friend, Ruth Sheridan. Bob is survived by his sons, Michael Hemmelgarn of Dayton and Mark (Lori) Hemmelgarn of Cincinnati; granddaughter, Maria Ann; siblings Esther (Ralph) Link of Dayton, and Ruth Miller of Ottoville, OH; Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 at Routsong Funeral Home 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering from 6:00 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2330 Smithville Rd., Dayton at 10:30 Am with Father Joseph Satish officiating. Entombment at Woodland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton OH 45420.
