Sandra L. Conklin

CONKLIN, Sandra L., (Sanders), age 82, of Miamisburg, OH, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by her children. She was born September 29, 1937 in Springfield, OH to the late Harold and Evelyn (Benson) Sanders.

“Sandy” was a 1955 Graduate of Springfield High School. Right after, she worked for Guarantee Mutual Insurance Company. She retired from Elder-Beerman after many years of service. She was a former member of Miamisburg Church of Christ for many years and a member of Franklin Christian Church.

Sandy was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother, who always put her family above all else. Her children and grandchildren were her passion. She never wanted to miss a single minute. She was proud of her family with whom she always provided love and support. You could always count on her and her daily phone calls that always ended with a “Love You, Bye.” While her most favorite moments were spent with her family, she enjoyed watching movies, bowling (in her earlier years), playing cards with friends, getting out for a drive, reading, crafts, and loved watching Ohio State Buckeyes football. Her greatest joy was attending her grandkids’ sporting events. Sandy was a very patient, kind-hearted, and caring person to everyone. She will be missed deeply by all that knew and loved her.

Sandy is survived by her two sons, Dave Conklin and Jeff (Jennifer) Conklin; a daughter, Vicki (Jeff) Bowman; two granddaughters, Taylor Conklin and Lauren Conklin; grandson, Samuel Conklin; sisters, Shirley Roberts and Edie Mims; brother-n-law, Richard (Priscilla) Conklin; cousin, Susan Harmon; a niece, Terri (Jerry) Barone; nephews, Rick (Cathy) Mims, Jimmy Roberts, Barry (Tina) Mims, and Rick (Tina) Conklin; and numerous beloved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Donald L. Conklin, in 1990; her parents; in-laws, Donald and Louise (Sagowitz) Conklin; Two brother-n-laws, Charlie Roberts and Bill Mims; nephew, Chris Mims; two nieces Kim Conklin and Tami Roberts Durbin.

A visitation following social distancing guidelines will be held on Thursday, May 28th, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429. A service will be held the following day, Friday, May 29th, at 11:00 am. The service will also be available to watch via YouTube. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH. A celebration of life will follow.
