Stephanie L. "Sto" Hetzel

HETZEL, Stephanie L. “Sto” age 58, of Centerville, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. She was born on May 7, 1963 the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Sharon Hetzel, in Dayton, OH. Stephanie attended Centerville high school, class of 1982, and attended The Ohio State University. Following her education, she worked in the retail management field before changing her career to be a flight attendant for United Airlines for 9 years. During those years Stephanie was able to travel all over the world and resided in New York City and San Francisco. She returned to Dayton where she remained in retail, most recently working for Kroger Corporation for over 10 years, making many great friends along the way. Throughout her life Stephanie was known as an animal lover, and was especially fond of her cats. She was also known for her witty sense of humor, her positive life influence to many, and her deep intellect. Stephanie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Thomas Hetzel; sister, Lori Andersen; and uncle, Sherrill Raper.

She is survived by her mother, Sharon (partner Tom Blalock) Hetzel; brother, Mark (Tonya) Hetzel; sister, Susan (Greg) Hallmark; nieces, Alixx (Drew) Smith, Sara Hetzel, Meggi (Jake) Matthews, Allison (Pete) Berard, Mellissa (Ryan) Feldman, Savannah Andersen, Erica Andersen; nephew, Tommy Hetzel; and brother-in-law Dr. Wayne Andersen and beloved cats, Izabelle and Millie; and other extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 12-2pm, on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH 45429. A Celebration of Life will be held following at 2pm. Inurnment at David’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either SICSA or the Dayton Humane Society.
